Ruffles and Rust show!

It was a gorgeous sun drenched drive from the Eastside to Monroe...even though I got there late..had only an hour or so to shop and see friends, I made it and had so much fun!

I loved seeing my Come junk with Us friends and I was happy to finally meet Kath, my dear online friend of 2 years, of Lil' Bit Old Lil' Bit New. She's so sweet and brought me some very cute gifts..KATH...?. I brought her a couple too!

The show was fun , lot's of new vendors, and I will upload some pics when I get help removing my cute "finds" out of my tiny little car! Man... I miss the van!!

Now my camera is on the blink, but I bought a similar vintage white chippy cradle for my children's parties..it will be the little bed of flowers. Also bought a white bird chippy bird cage..and some other cute bird items.
I'm inspired now to serve cupcakes with birds!

Finally a post on the Ruffles and Rust show, boy.. it has been a very busy couple of weeks for me. Sadley, my beloved camera has failed, and my cell phone broke and cracked at the show, so the few pictures I was able to save are all I got. Thank goodness for all the wonderful blogs and posts out there, and great PICS!!! Also Lisa, of New York Cupcakes in Bellevue donated a TON of the best mini cupcakes in the world, and sweet Kay of The Weathered Rose in Bothell walked around and served..WOW!

Fun days with friends

Well a few days ago I took some time off and visited a few friends..old and new! First was Shirley at The Shed Antiques we had a lot of fun visiting and I bought a sign for my Garden Shed entry for my Children's Tea Parties..we are soon to be having.

Then we visited her sister in law Vicki at TheVintageViolets she has the most amazing collection of Fleur Des Li's and french flair items..I did some shopping for sure! What a lovely boutique! Stop by and visit...

The next stop was Kay at The Weathered Rose in Bothell and we spent some time visiting. We met Kay on the trip to the farm Chicks, and we all rode together in the van. It was a hoot!

Well, It's been about 2 months since "Farm Chicks". I can't believe how fast time FLies!! I went with the "Come Junk With Us" gals...I had SO much fun, I took so many pictures, then my camera decided to be a little strange....so today, finally I was able to save most of them...

Our last night at Farm Chicks we were at Chaps restaurant..a lot of fun, and SO tired..

A Few Months of fun!

The past few months have been power packed with lot's of fun things.

My ceramics were purchased for the "Royal Family" for a birthday party..for a little princess..they ordered my "Keep Life Sweet" desserts line..it was so much fun to make many different dessert boxes.

I was in Los Angeles the past weekend, and got way too much sun..wow, the ocean was gorgeous, had fun shopping and visiting with friends.

I've been busy going to antique shows, getting inspired and looking for other mediums to add to my ceramics....

BUT I'm SO excited about going to the "Farm Chicks" show this weekend with the "Come Junk With Us" group.. 200 vendors WOW!! I'll take lot's of pictures. Off to start packing...

My Sweet Partner in Crime...

Since my last post, it has been bittersweet. My precious "Falcore" My muse, my little partner in creative crime, my sweet little boston had to be put to sleep.

She suffered from a degenerative eye disease that many boston terriers do, and had a little stroke, which dimmed her little life light, she was 8 years. Picture here, sitting at my PC, checking blog quality control... OR at one of my outside Tea Parties, sitting in the chair, always ready for something fun... She will be in my heart forever..

I have a sweet friend Gail..she gave me this beautiful little rose colored flower vase when we were in Cape Cod last spring, it even has HEARTS all around it..it's a little hard to see, but I just adore it and have it filled with flowers all the time, it's in my studio and it's precious..I also have this very funny silly book, that's in my studio too

as you probably figured I LOVE Cupcakes..my goodness who doesn't??

Well, the other day I was having some people for tea, and just had to pick up some fabulous cupcakes at my favorite store near me "New York Cupcakes" in Bellevue. Lisa the owner, and her Mom Chicky are always so helpful and make your experience ever SO sweet!!

Lisa has a great assortment of the cutest books on cupcakes, tea parties, cupcake journals, phone books, and much more!!

My ceramic cupcake clocks, night lights and trinkit box cupcakes are sold there too!!

Sweet Treats and Tea

Something was bubbling inside the creative studio~ I wanted to to add a little something to my ceramic classes, and my theme this year~"Keep Life Sweet"....

I got out my linens, my original ceramic pieces, that just live in the studio with me..and came up with a plan to have some fun...

"Children's Tea Parties". Add some of my favorites , cupcakes, cookies, tea sandwiches, pretty linens, and paint your own ceramic piece..and it's time to have some fun.

The outdoor studio is 90% finished and plan to begin in a few weeks!

The "perfect present" which is called "Forever Present" are made by "Rose" of Sweet Humming Bird Lane, and she has a lovely poem she adds to them as well~

Fall is in the air, and I can only think I've had such a wonderful summer. Starting with a week in Cape Cod at the Make Mine Pink retreat, then visiting family in Chicago, then going on art walks with great friends, visiting local artists studios, even taking some classes to become more creative, and learn about how to recycle more into ART! Here's a few of my favorite pics.

The Breakers mansion in Newport RI..I could have stayed forever it was gorgeous..thanks Marie for suggesting that.

Cute little gift shops all along the roadside..I think we stopped in all of them...well we wanted too!
One of many art studios I visited, was Rebecca Devere's in Kirkland WA.. close to where I live..I signed up for classes to learn a technique called Picasiette...Rebecca makes and cuts all of her own tiles. She taught us this technique..shown is her tiled salmon..it's gorgeous about 5 ft in length.. currently being shown at Gallery One in Ellensburg WA. Visit her site.she has amazing shrines and tiled art and paintings.

The CUPCAKE shrine I made at her class..I had so much fun making this! I think I know what to do with some of my imperfect ceramic pieces...!

It was so much her escape that the King was reported only to have visited her there a few times.So why do we love Marie Antoinette today? I love winter~ long January days where the snow stretches until it blends with the low white clouds. No definition of distance, just shadows to foretell what is to come. Winter is clean, cold and refreshing. Snowy whites and creamy ivory swirl together creating a sense of calm. The air is still. The whole world seems at peace. As nature rests under a blanket of snow, time is spent in thought. There are books to be read, journals to be written, rooms to refresh, plans to be made for the garden. But nothing needs to move to fast. We have time. Winter is here and we can take things slow, time to relax and get lost in dream world of all white.

A new year, new ideas, fresh like the fallen snow~ My show and tell this week is about my most recent trip to LA.. then driving back home to this..SNOW!!!!! even one of my goats, seen in picture wonder why I left sunny Los Angeles, but you gotta do, what you gotta do, and my home is in the Northwest...yadda yadda, anyway, I did have a nice time, one of the highlights was meeting Debra of Lilli's Blue http://www.lillibluescloset.blogspot.com/. She was my Secret Sister for this winter. She invited me to her lovely cottage right in the heart of Beverly Hills where I was staying with friends. We drank tea and ate cookies, and talked about everything fun, in our businesses, we shared new ideas for the new year, I wished I could have stayed longer~her place was magical, peaceful, and very comfortable...Visit her blog for some lovely reading..

I had to show this too...it's so cute..as I was having lunch at my favorite little cafe Clementine's just across from Century City, I was telling some friends I missed my "pink" world and couldn't wait to return home to create more pink art!!! Well...I looked up and saw this Restaurant

These have a funny story..I went to my one of my favorite shoe stores years ago, a fancy schmancy one... and said I want a pair of shoes SO comfy to teach in, so unusual, and if they are related to "Angels" in any way I will flip and do a dance..I need them as a business expense and told him my business name, I'll pay ANY price for comfort...LOL! Oh! my was I in trouble..he brought this box out that said "Think Peace"..and Italian writing...when it's not in English you're in trouble..I flipped when I saw them, tried them on..and that was it..they even have red sculpted hearts on the bottom... I floated across the room!

They are the most expensive shoes I have ever bought, but when I wear them...I can't help but smile..

I wear these sometimes when I teach my ceramic classes, or just when I want to be silly and walk 2 inches above ground! I've had them forever, but they got lost in my closet, I swear those angels play tricks on us..recently I mentioned them and thought I would share...my dear friend even had a purse made and hand painted to match the shoes..I use it for some fun things other than a purse...it's too cute to get messed up~Got any unusual cute shoes to share? LOL

Monday's are Make Mine Pinks..show and tells, and I'm taking a "Clay Break" for a little while.....so this is my latest exciting thing...and by golly it's time...:)

My baby is coming home...and I'm so excited...he's actually my oldest child..he's been in South of France and Spain this summer..

But darn it..just for a friends wedding then he's off again...such a traveler.. this time maybe to New Zealand, to work ... then hopefully soon we'll all be off to start our business in South of France..maybe 1 year from now! Please please wouldn't that be fun...fingers crossed!

Also..most of you know I LIVED IN GREECE..on an island for 3 years...many many moons ago...well..I just saw the movie MAMA MIA...it's GREAT!!!! A Must see!!!!!

Looks just the island where I lived on Paros! Meryl Streep had 3 hotties that summer in the movie, I'll never kiss n tell.. LOL

Greece sure is a fun time in summer when your young...a VERY funny movie to watch if you want some beautiful Greek pics..is "Shirley Valentine" a hoot!

Its been a very busy couple of weeks, I hope everyone had a nice 4th of July!

I saved the lives of some baby robins, the nest fell to the ground and I rescued it, stuck it in a birdfeeder with chains so it wouldn't fall out again.. they'll fly away any day...it's been so neat watching them grow and the mom coming back and finding the nest that fell..I've been recording it daily...

As some of you may know.... I never pass these on......... there are too many wonderful people out there.....But...I will try & post your blog on my sidebar, because you all make my day, and with all my jobs there is never enough time.....I'm still learning how to do this too....There are many blogs I read that aren't there too, I feel like if I added every blog I love the list would go on and on and on! Yes! it snowed in Seattle a few days ago...sooo cold..but when I saw these BEAUTIFUL flowers @ the feed n bin store buying hay for the goats..I couldn't resist! Could you??? They are on my patio..in my studio...everywhere..I wish for you flowers too.. whatever the weather is!

Happy January everyone! The holidays are over..well another one soon is approaching, one of my fav's Valentines Day..Angels and Hearts...yeah! it all comes SO fast....

I need a kick start for January..Get going on it....it's rainy most of the time, I wish I had helpers galore to make all the things I want to...but I don't so I'll dream! Wish full thinking...maybe traveling soon...here's a positive affirmation I just created...are you creating what you want???

Well, the other day I decided it was time to treat myself and have fun with a friend! I did all my holiday shopping, had a very fun "Ceramic Open House" with my all my little students for 3 HOURS!!! ....sent orders out and gifts, polished and cleaned my house for our holiday guests.......WELL..at the last minute my sweet friend got sick! ( I even went and got a flu shot) ....that's another story! So the plan was to visit "CiCi's Jewelry" open house in Seattle....she is an amazing artist, sculpting jewelry, with handblown glass, and gorgeous beads, from glass mermaids, to roses (I own one of those!)..to succulent grape sculptures..a must se...anyway..I really don't like driving too far alone....but I needed to escape...and have fun...I drove through forests, over bridges, 3 fwys, tunnels, uphills, and finally, I arrived to Seattle's Westside. Charming as could be..cottage style homes, white picket fences, and the feel of Christmas everywhere..and POURING RAIN!!!!! All the while thinking..so what...this will be fun...I never get out..always working...SO..I get lost of course...Then I find CiCi's charming house, with a white picket fence, I walk in, her house decorated with SO many unique ornaments, hanging everywhere..(I'm holding the Eiffel Tower...)I wanted it!! LOL...LOL.....all along the ceiling, my mouth open as I gaze all the amazing pretty things! Lot's of people already there, buying up her pretty pieces...my thoughts..what I'm supposed to have I will...sure enough...I find the most AMAZING..little vintage earings...that have a brass charm.. swarovski's of course.Qui..or Non! Is that me or what..? I can never make up my little gemini mind...I bought the beautiful pink heart necklace too! With the Qui or Non charm too!...Well, I stayed a a bit longer..snatched up some other pearl and crystal goodies some for friends..& when everyone left, CiCi & I chatted..we took some pics, had some some giggles..then realizing I was teaching a class that day..I had to hurry & make the hour travel back home in a hurry...but with a BIG smile....I had a wonderful and fun time...Thank you Cici!!! Your Valentine show..what date??LOL :)

Christmas Cookie Exchange French Shortbreads!

Welcome to my Christmas Cookie exchange..I made..well I tried.. these are so

de-lish!! OK! I lied a little, my DH..FC (French Chef) hubby made them with me....a famous traditional cookie recipe from world reknown French chef , Gaston LeNotre..he was a famous pastry chef in his time he lived from 1920 until the 1990's. Well these cookies, are TDF, little shortbread as I would call them, but they have a fancy French name too! I dipped them half in melted chocolate and sprinkled with powdered sugar! We had so much fun making them AFTER our art show that we did on Saturday. It's official we are snowed IN!..can't get out so why not BAKE....and eat of course. By the way, no calories this week at all!

This starts out like this, makes about 40 (3 rolls of cookie dough @ 1 1/2 " diameter)

1/2 cup granulated sugar, 3/4 cup soft butter, 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract, 1 3/4 cups flour, salt just a pinch, 1 egg yolk, large granulated sugar if you have it, if not regular. Mix sugar, butter and vanilla first, then everything together in mixer, then refridgerate for 30 min. then, divide mixture in 3 parts, roll out in shape of sausage, then again refridgerate for 15 min.

Beat the egg, brush the rolls all over, then roll in sugar then pre-heat oven @ 400 F cut each roll of dough into 1/2 " slices & place on a lightly buttered baking sheet. Bake for 13 minutes or until golden brown..let cool..

Where did this year go? Already December, and with so many things to do and things to think about..I choose FUN! I wish that for all of you too! I will not get overwhelmed, I will not stress, even though I do much more than I should, but I do have fun! Doing art shows a couple a week, this holiday time..has me bouncing....but I cannot forget those who have less, so I choose to give and to have fun! On my December newsletter being sent in a few days, I will have another contest..so be sure to join my mailing list on my website for something fun....

I've started doing my holiday gift shows, they are always so much fun, we are doing about 2 or 3 a week..this week a favorite is the Columbia Winery in Woodinville..Sat. Nov. 10 and Sun. 11th..if your nearby stop by and say Hi!. It's always fun because I make mostly wine items..these are my favorite little plaques with sassy wine sayings, and always get a good giggle!!

My Trip To Laguna Beach!

November snuck in, I'm back from my vacation to Los Angeles, visiting family and friends, but the most fun was meeting Christie Repasy, world reknowned Rose Painter, and doing an interview with her for the December, Make Mine Pink monthly article "Women Who Inspire". Christie has always been my inspiration.

My sweet friend Linda PICTURED WITH CHRISTIE and I had a very fun day! We drove to Laguna Beach, where we met with Christie at her shop for a couple of hours. We met Alice who manages the shop, and adorable Jack, Christie's puppy a poodle mix. Her paintings are amazing, and you know her creative, sensitive, love of art comes from the heart. Christie has always been my inspiration. It's already fall..Pink October, and boy time does fly!

In honor of Pink October, I will donate a portion of my sales during the month of October to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. I've made some pink Tea Pots.

I've been fortunate not to have lost any close friends or family to breast cancer. Some close calls... but so far it's all ok....My thoughts and prayers are with all that have...

13) I'm happy with all the online friends I've made, the wonderful experience of the internet, and stay up way too late..I'm a night owl

Fall is in the air, rust, orange and gold colors everywhere... it's so much fun to create everything Halloween, from pink ghosts and pumpkins, to even traditional colors just a bit softer..it's fun to change things around with color..here's some new things I've added to my website..I just haven't made a Halloween angel yet! Well , Happy Tea Time to everyone.. I invited some friends, I set a comfortable table, I thought..my favorite china Theodore Haviland Rose , some of my favorite Angel Heart Design tea pots...under my favorite tree, next to my garden studio, and at my garden gate that leads to my chickies and my goats..well...little did I know, the plums were ripe & dropping like little bombs, afraid they would break my china......the goats were trying to get out because they could see them falling , so we quickly set up another table, added a tent cause it was a very warm day in the Pacific Northwest, and our goodies were starting to melt! We did serve Lemon coconut cake, assorted scones, cookies, little tea sandwiches, and a very fruity fruit tart! It was a fun adventure , I can't wait to do it again, we actually had so much fun under our plum tree, we kept our table there, and had dinner, lit candles, added outside lighting and all...and hubby did join in!

Santa Fe in July..where's all the PINK?

Well..it was time for my dear friend, Lou Lou's art gallery opening in Sante Fe! Her and Soaring Crow bought a magnificent Victorian home in the heart of town and made it into an art Gallery. The speciality will be photos! Well it was an experience, not to mention the "king" of experience Jimmy Hendrix, only the 2nd show in the U.S. to feature these incredible photos. If you make it to Santa Fe the exibit is on until August 31st. Here's some ceramic guitar magnets I made for the opening..They flew away...in a second they were gone...I'll have to make more.

Well I ventured out with a new found friend who owned a nearby spa..looking for PINK to take pics of. Well, I thought Where's all the PINK!..Santa Fe is all brown..kinda tan... very pretty if you like tan!..well I did find ONE thing to photograph..& I'll share this cute Pink sign I wanted to take it home..ckeck out the cute Pink Art Center..WOW! with a blue door...

I was on a mission! No shabby, no cottage, I felt like a fish out of the water..I was determined to have fun..even though the 2pm storms, with raindrops the size of plates..oh! my!..I was in search for more PINK!!

This is all I really found, in downtown Santa Fe..and the day was wonderful..spent with good friends... Here's Lou Lou walking down Gallery Row!!

I love July... to celebrate our freedom...the beautiful fireworks show...the summer days... to be in the my garden with all my cute animals around..as you can see..they celebrate too! This is little falcor my sweet Boston Bull Terrier, she follows me around like a shadow, studio to studio, she's even on my website...and never minds getting dusted with clay..I LOVE July..I also want to celebrate my new sister website "Greenplanetartists.com"..I'm going green..as much as possible, I will make the effort, and will try to help & guide others too and make it fun! A beautiful PINK Northwest day!

Well... It all started on this gorgeous gloomy Saturday.. When all I wanted to do was go outside, pick some flowers, because I could see my camellia bush in full bloom. And I really needed some beautiful flowers to keep me company when I played with clay today...Well the sun came out, it was beautiful, then I knew I could take some pretty pics, well at least I took one..My favorite things, take a guess?

It's Spring..

Well the weather has been quite interesting here in the Northwest..snow, windstorms, even hail today, so large...I thought it would break my windows, as I sat working with clay and making new cute things for spring..then in an instant sunshine...hmmmm! Mother nature is up to something..

Well I know I am..I have lot's of new designs up my sleeve, mini flower pots/planters for those ever so cute little flowering plants, that you want to keep small but need a groovy little cute pot! A big Thank You to Pam from Texas who wrote me & inquired about that~~~she is my "win a gift" design for March~..Coming soon large roses with hooks to hang just about anything..keys, maybe a cutain back, a towel or a clipboard..
Today I'm posting my newest spring bowls. They are perfect for anything, soaps, jewely, candy, even office doo dads.. and food! I always use safe glazes~

Can't wait to work outside in my outdoor studio ~shown on my website~ with all the pretty things Spring brings us! Have a happy start of Spring!
